Job Description Linux Administrator (L1+)
We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator (L1+) to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux servers in production and non-production environments. This role requires hands-on experience with system administration, storage, and networking.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
- Manage system boot processes, run-levels, and systemd services.
- Perform user and group management, sudo configuration, and access control.
- Configure and maintain storage solutions including LVM, RAID, and filesystem management..
- Configure and troubleshoot networking services (NFS, Samba, FTP, SSH).
- Manage firewall rules (iptables, firewalld, nftables) and ensure network connectivity.
- Monitor and analyze system performance (CPU, memory, I/O, and processes).
- Review system logs and troubleshoot incidents using tools such as journalctl and /var/log.
- Schedule and manage jobs using cron and systemd timers.
- Apply OS patches and security updates as per standards.
- Configure and manage security hardening.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash for routine tasks.
- Provide L1-level troubleshooting support and escalate to L2 when necessary.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE).
- Experience in filesystem management, like LVM.
- Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, dig, netstat, ss).
- Experience in system monitoring and performance analysis.
- Ability to work independently and handle incidents in a production environment
