Job Summary
Do you see yourself working with smart, motivated people that build creative solutions to challenging problemsEnsono is seeking to fill a newly created position on our software modernization tools team. Joining our team as a senior software engineer, you will be tasked with extending the capabilities and value of our AI and automation-enriched tools that refactor and optimize legacy code and data.
A qualified candidate is a full stack senior software engineer with experience in JAVA or .Net development. This smart, passionate, and curious problem solver will support our refactoring tool stack. While previous experiences with compiler development, IDE plugin development, legacy programming languages, and mainframe data migration projects would have you standing out amongst the crowd, it s not required. If necessary, we ll align you with others to groom your skills and knowledge in these areas.
Principle Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software.
- Lead designs for new features that expand the capabilities of our refactoring tool stack.
- Participate in or lead design and code reviews with peers and stakeholders.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Triage product issues and analyze the impact on business outcomes.
- Contribute to existing documentation and educational content.
Skills & Behaviors that are reliable indications that you can contribute
- Experience in mainframe migrations - code and data conversions
- Experience with Java or C#
- Hands on experience with Eclipse, IntelliJ, and/or Visual Studio plugin development
- Experience in compiler development or PROLOG is a big plus
- Experience or knowledge of the IBM Z platform architecture
- Experience with React, angular or similar front end technologies and frameworks
- Strong experience in database design fundamentals
- Exposure to agile ways of working and code deployment and familiar with Jira, Git/SVN, Jenkins, CI/CD, containerization
- Self-motivated and driven to define and complete deliverables
- Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Fearless in researching, deploying, and leveraging technologies that achieve the best results
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Preferred Education or Equivalent Experience
- Bachelor s degree in information systems, computer science, or equivalent work-related experience
- Certifications in related technology fields is a plus
