Job Description
Work with the IT department and third-party vendors, when needed, to build and oversee the settings for Payroll, Time and Attendance, and Absence Management systems.
- Analyze, assess, and interpret patterns in data so that well-supported judgements can be given and provide suggestions concerning the compensation of employees.
- Managing all the custom analyses that the business requires.
- Responsible for creating, upkeep, and dissemination of KPI metric reports to facilitate the smooth and productive functioning of the payroll operation and team. A key focus involves independently managing and implementing enhancements to metrics through collaborations with both internal and external business associates, aiming to boost process effectiveness.
- Work hand in hand with the HR and IT departments, guaranteeing all system improvements, enhancements, and updates are examined, assessed, and put in place promptly, adhering to the set timelines. Additionally, the individual will be tasked with handling the setup and resolution of any problems encountered during payroll procedures.
- Create new deduction and earnings codes as necessary.
- Conduct regular audits of reports and address reporting inquiries along with any immediate reporting requirements.
- Help with annual W-2 form processing and reconciliation, W-2 corrections, and year-end related tasks.
Create back-up for payroll processing.
Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, and/or related field
- Experience:
- Prior experience in US Payroll
- 3 to 5 years experience in US Payroll
- Hands-on experience with HRIS, PEO and benefit systems
- Knowledge of Gross to Net Payroll calculation and General Accounting Principles
- Working knowledge of Wage and Hour and Taxation requirements
- Canadian payroll experience will get extra preference.
- Knowledge of FLSA (Fair Labor Standard Act)
- Skills:
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Payroll processing knowledge in Workday and/or Ceridian.
- Computer proficiency and excellent mathematical/computational skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple and shifting priorities, while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, a track record of proactively utilizing data to enhance corporate operations, and the capacity to professionally manage sensitive and private data
Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion.
