Containers and Kubernetes Services (CKS)
Oracle s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.
The CKS team aims to provide a rich set of services and tools to enable building and deploying of Cloud Services as containerized workloads and manage the entire development and deployment lifecycle. Oracle s Container Engine for Kubernetes, Virtual Nodes and Functions are the flagship offerings from this organization. We offer unique opportunities for smart, hands-on engineers and technical leads with the expertise and passion to solve difficult problems in distributed highly available services and virtualized infrastructure.
Qualifications
General Skills
- 4-6+ years of experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available, distributed systems.
Excellent knowledge of GoLang or Java, Object Oriented Fundamentals, and experience with scripting languages such as Python.
Excellent knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability to deliver quality code
- Experience working on multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus
- Excellent analytical skills and willingness to look at alternate paths to a solution
Experience designing and driving technical solutions and mentoring engineers.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills.
Specific Technology Exposure
A strong understanding of the architecture of commonly available IaaS solutions with active contributions to design and implementation.
- A strong understanding of container technology like Docker and container orchestration technology like Kubernetes.
- Experience with Kubernetes architecture and Cloud design patterns. Familiarity with Kubernetes services from AWS, Azure, Google will be an advantage.
Profile of desired experience and expectations
- 4-6+ years of experience as a Software Developer
- Bachelors or masters degree in engineering. A degree in Computer Science would be a big plus
- Prior experience with operating and building cloud services would be a big plus
- Prior experience in container technology like Docker and container orchestration technology like Kubernetes is a big plus.
- Exposure to managing deployments on OCI, Azure, AWS and GCP is a big plus.
- Prior DevOps exposure is a plus
- Willingness to perform DevOps and support on-call as well.
- Should have a bias for action and should be willing to take ownership of a problem and solve it to completion.
- Should be willing to take ownership of larger outcomes in design as well service operations
