Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Drawings Specialist to join our Wayfinding Environmental Graphics Design team. As a Technical Drawings Specialist, you will be responsible for creating precise and detailed technical drawings, signage location plans, and specifications for wayfinding and signage projects. Your expertise will help ensure the accurate production, installation, and maintenance of signage systems across a variety of environments, including commercial, healthcare, education, transport, and public spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Develop sign location plans, message schedules, and graphic layouts in coordination with project teams.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, and installation plans for interior and exterior signage and wayfinding solutions using CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Revit).
- Translate design concepts and architectural plans into fabrication-ready drawings with accurate dimensions and materials specifications.
- Work closely with designers, project managers, fabricators, and installation teams to ensure clarity and feasibility of technical drawings.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and client representatives to integrate signage solutions with building infrastructure and codes.
- Review and verify technical drawings for accuracy, compliance with project requirements.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain organized drawing files, version control, and project documentation.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, Industrial Design, Engineering, or related field.
- 4/5 years of experience in technical drawing, drafting, or similar role preferably in signage, wayfinding, architecture, or related industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD required; Revit, or similar a plus).
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and installation techniques for signage.
