Senior Power BI Developer

5+ years of relevant experience in Power BI development and analytics

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Developer who can design, develop, and manage scalable Power BI solutions. The role requires strong expertise in Power BI data modeling, semantic models, performance optimization, and advanced Power BI capabilities, along with the ability to collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate KPIs into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Power BI reports and dashboards for enterprise-scale use cases
• Build and manage Power BI data models and semantic models, ensuring accuracy, performance, and reusability
• Understand business KPIs and metrics, and work closely with stakeholders to convert requirements into analytical solutions
• Perform debugging and back-tracing to identify data, model, or performance issues in Power BI reports
• Implement and manage advanced Power BI features including:
• Incremental refresh
• Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Power BI REST API integrations
• XMLA endpoint-based dataset modifications
• Large semantic model optimization and management
• Ensure best practices in report performance, data governance, and model design
• Collaborate with data engineering and business teams to ensure reliable and scalable BI solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI report development
• Strong expertise in Power BI data modeling and semantic model management
• Proven experience working with advanced Power BI concepts such as incremental refresh, RLS, APIs, XMLA endpoints, and large datasets
• Solid understanding of KPIs, business metrics, and stakeholder-driven analytics
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in Power BI environments
• Experience working with at least one database technology, preferably Snowflake

Good to Have Skills

• Basic experience integrating Power BI with Azure resources (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, etc.)

Soft Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities
• Proven client engagement and stakeholder interaction experience
• Ability to ask insightful and clarifying questions to drive better solutions
• Confidence in delivering effective suggestions and actionable recommendations
