Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced GCP Technical Lead to design, build, and lead cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The role involves hands-on architecture, technical leadership, and mentoring teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead end-to-end architecture and implementation of solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for cloud initiatives
- Review designs, code, and infrastructure for best practices and scalability
- Guide teams on cloud-native patterns and microservices architecture
Architecture & Engineering
- Design and implement solutions using services such as:
- Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run
- BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Spanner
- Pub/Sub, Dataflow
- VPC, IAM, Load Balancing
- Define and enforce security, networking, and compliance standards
- Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization
DevOps & Automation
- Lead CI/CD pipeline implementation using tools like Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform / Deployment Manager
- Enable monitoring and logging using Cloud Monitoring & Cloud Logging
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Provide technical estimates, risk analysis, and delivery plans
Mentorship & Governance
- Mentor developers and cloud engineers
- Establish cloud governance, standards, and best practices
- Drive cloud adoption and modernization initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Expertise in cloud architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE)
- Proficiency in one or more languages: Java, Python, Go, or Node.js
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and IAM
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Solid understanding of data engineering and analytics on GCP (BigQuery preferred)
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Proven experience leading technical teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to make architectural decisions and trade-offs
- Agile / Scrum experience
Preferred Qualifications
- GCP Professional Architect / DevOps Engineer certification
- Experience migrating workloads from AWS/Azure/on-prem to GCP
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid architectures
- Background in regulated or enterprise environments
