 Technician

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determines the nature and extent of illness or injury present and establishes the priorities for emergency care & transport.
  • Based on assessment findings, renders appropriate medical care to patients of all ages, while remaining in the scope of SOP. Duties include:
  1. Initial assessment and support treatment for life threatening conditions
  2. Obtaining a history and vital signs
  3. Performing a detailed or focused assessment
  4. Performing CPR
  5. Controlling haemorrhage
  6. Protecting patient from environment
  7. Opening and maintaining a clear airway
  8. Ventilating patients
  9. Bandaging and dressing wounds
  10. Immobilizing fractures
  11. Managing respiratory, cardiac, diabetic, allergic, behavioural and environmental emergencies
  12. Treating suspected poisonings
  13. Administering oxygen
  • Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and transports the patient to the hospital
  • Safely transfers patients to ambulance, or the concerned mode of transport.
  • Performs triaging of patients and management of mass casualty situations 
  • Lifts patients, backboards and stretches in a safe manner using proper body mechanics
  • Reports to the CMO/ Incoming consultant at the emergency department on the patients condition and intervention performed, nature and extent o the injuries, the number of patients, vital signs and treatment rendered
  • Maintains control over the scene by reassuring patients and bystanders, working with confidence and efficiency, and avoiding undue haste and mishandling
  • Proper management and maintenance of emergency supplies and equipment
  • Attends continuing medical education sessions in order to maintain proficiency as required by local protocols and the state
  • Any other work assigned by the in charge

Education, Experience & Competencies required:

  • Education: Graduate/Post Graduate in Emergency & Trauma Care Technology
  • Experience: Freshers / 1+ Year of Experience
