Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with deep, hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade analytics and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, DAX, Power Query, scalable ETL pipelines, and end-to-end implementation of analytics ecosystems using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Notebooks, Real-Time Analytics, OneLake, and Governance features).
You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and architects to deliver high-performance BI solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Development
- Design and develop highly interactive dashboards, reports, and datasets using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Implement complex DAX calculations, measures, advanced time intelligence, and optimized data models.
- Create reusable semantic models following best practices for star schema, data lineage, and governance.
- Optimize reports for performance, usability, and scalability.
Microsoft Fabric (Advanced Hands-On)
- Architect and implement end-to-end analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Build and manage Lakehouse & Warehouse structures, Delta tables, and medallion architectures.
- Develop and orchestrate Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks for ETL/ELT workflows.
- Manage OneLake storage, shortcuts, security policies, and data governance.
- Implement Real-Time Analytics (KQL DB), event streams, and near-real-time dashboards.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate Fabric with enterprise data sources (Azure, Synapse, SQL, APIs, on-prem systems).
Data Engineering & Modeling
- Design analytical data models aligning with business needs and high-performance standards.
- Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency.
- Improve data refresh performance, query folding, and incremental refresh strategies.
Governance & Administration
- Implement row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), and workspace governance.
- Support CI/CD, version control, and DevOps processes for Fabric and Power BI.
- Ensure compliance with organizational data governance and security frameworks.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and best practices to junior BI developers.
- Participate in architectural discussions, proof-of-concepts, and strategic BI roadmap planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6-8 years of hands-on experience in BI development, data modeling, and analytics.
- Expert-level proficiency in Power BI (Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query, semantic models).
- Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including:
oLakehouse / Warehouse
oOneLake & Shortcuts
oDataflows Gen2
oData Pipelines
oSpark/SQL Notebooks
oReal-Time Analytics (KQL DB, Event Streams)
- Strong understanding of SQL, ETL concepts, data warehousing, and M/DAX languages.
- Experience implementing enterprise-scale BI platforms following best practices.
- Knowledge of Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS, SQL DB) is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certifications:
o PL-300, DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer), or other Azure certifications.
- Experience with CI/CD for Power BI & Fabric (Git integration, pipelines).
- Familiarity with governance frameworks (Purview), security models, and enterprise data management.
