Job Description
Role & responsibilities :
Seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant Chef to work in the Executive Director's resident at the Dr. Agarwals Group of Eye Hospital.
- Directly reports to Residence or Executive Chef.
- Reports to duty on time and clocks in /out every day.
- Ensures all Kitchen staff wears head cap always in the kitchen.
- Develop and plan healthy menus and daily specials for kids by consulting with parents.
- Create prep lists for kitchen crew according to the menu chosen by the principal.
- Responsible for executing the precise cooking of all meats (Chicken, Mutton, Beef etc.,) and conducting regular taste tests to ensure seasoning and quality meet kitchen standards
- Orders grocery and dry goods according to the needs of the operation.
- Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality of perishables are well kept in refrigerator at appropriate temperature.
- Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
- Constantly checks the quality of ordered items from the vendors and ensures the products are fresh and consumable.
- Stocks the kitchen store room with necessary supplies and ensures no pilferage.
- Ensures the kitchen staff follows all food safety regulations (clean aprons, duster cloths etc.)
- Sets and implements the kitchen policies and procedures, cleaning standards.
- Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality, and served at right temperature and in a timely manner.
- Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
- Receiving feedback from Principal, Residence Manager and making improvements where necessary.
- Maintain exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.
