Job Description

  • Join Thermo Fisher Scientific s CDMO team as a Power BI Engineer, where data fuels scientific and strategic decisions
  • In this role, you will integrate data from diverse sources, build data models, and create interactive dashboards that deliver actionable insights
  • You will also manage report deployment, optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data accuracy while collaborating with stakeholders to support operational efficiency and business growth

Data Insights and Reporting

  • Connect, integrate, and transform data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), Excel/CSV using ETL tools and queries to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and analysis readiness.
  • Design scalable semantic data models, define relationships, and create advanced calculated fields, DAX measures, LOD expressions, and custom SQL to support complex analytical requirements.
  • Build interactive, visually compelling dashboards and automated reports in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Excel, enabling real-time insights and data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor and optimize dashboard performance by tuning queries, refining data models, optimizing DAX/LOD expressions, and managing data refresh schedules and gateway configurations.
  • Manage report deployment, workspace/project structure, row-level security (RLS), user permissions, and data access governance to ensure secure and compliant analytics delivery.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and present insights through clear visualizations, KPIs, and self-service analytics solutions.
  • Develop and analyze integrated datasets to identify key trends across sales, commercial, and financial domains, supporting forecasting, KPI tracking, and executive reporting initiatives.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Partner with business and technical teams to define data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Translate findings into clear, practical recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to discussions that shape analytics strategy and reporting standards.
Process Improvement and Automation
  • Simplify manual reporting and automate recurring analytics using Python, R, or BI tools.
  • Strengthen data governance practices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency.
  • Explore new data technologies that improve access, speed, and performance.
Qualifications
  • bachelors degree in data science, Computer Science, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally within pharma or CDMO organizations.
  • Highly skilled in SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and at least one programming language (Python or R).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and visualization skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data sources like IQVIA preferred.
