Job Description
Overall Objectives of Job:(If multiple sections, accord weightage to each section)
Ensure delivery of high-quality data solutions that meet Business Users' requirements by:
- Designing and implementing ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses
- Developing and maintaining business intelligence reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements
- Establishing and maintaining data governance and quality controls over a number of data sources and systems
- Diagnosing and resolving data-related issues and optimizing ETL processes for performance
- Working with Project Managers and development leads to guide the estimation of data-related tasks
- Assisting with the recruitment of high-quality data analysts and ETL developers
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and ETL processes
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools (e-g-, Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience with ETL tools and technologies such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache NiFi
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e-g-, Hadoop, Spark) is a plus
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e-g-, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse) is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
Master's degree is a plus
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is highly desirable
- Knowledge of the insurance lifecycle policy & claims is a plus
- Lead estimation of new/updated data requirements
- Coordinate and review data design and build tasks (i-e
, ETL processes, data modeling, report generation, data quality improvements)
- Ensure data quality levels meet the standards agreed with the Data Architect
- Ensure appropriate use of technology as per Data Architecture & OSD
- Ensure ETL and reporting processes are reliable and automated
- Ensure data validation and quality checks are automated and coverage is maintained
- Monitor data pipelines in all environments (aim for zero errors; ensure appropriate information is logged to isolate issues)
- Coordinate and analyze performance testing in CI/ASM/SYS/UAT to identify possible performance issues
- Identify risks/issues potentially impacting major/minor data releases (record in Jira and escalate to PMs and Tech Owner/Manager)
- Identify technical debt (record in Jira and escalate to Tech Owner/Manager)
- Understand and own the 'end to end' data solution (i-e
, how all parts integrate)
- Liaise with related teams (architects, I&O, DBAs, SYS test, etc,)
