Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models
Build and optimize data models using star/snowflake schemas for performance and scalability
Write complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs
Develop and maintain Power Query (M) transformations
Ensure data accuracy, governance, security (RLS), and best practices across Power BI assets
Optimize report performance and troubleshoot issues in large datasets
Collaborate with data engineers on data pipelines and warehouse design
Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions
Lead BI standards, documentation, and best practices
Mentor junior developers and conduct code/review quality checks
Support Power BI Service administration (workspaces, gateways, deployments, licensing)
Work with stakeholders to drive data-driven decision making
Required Skills Qualifications
5+ years of experience in BI development, with strong Power BI focus
Expert-level Power BI (Desktop Service) experience
Advanced DAX knowledge (time intelligence, performance tuning)
Strong data modeling experience (dimensional modeling)
Solid SQL skills (SQL Server, Azure SQL, or equivalent)
Experience with Power Query (M language)
Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience with Azure data stack (ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks)
Experience with CI/CD for Power BI (Azure DevOps, Git)
Exposure to Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, ALM Toolkit
Experience with other BI tools (SSRS, Tableau, Looker)
Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300 or equivalent)
