Job Description
Job Title: GCP Data Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud-based data engineering, ETL/ELT development, and big data technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines on GCP
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Cloud Dataflow, Dataproc, or Composer
- Develop and manage data warehouses using BigQuery
- Implement data ingestion solutions using Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions
- Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security
- Optimize performance and cost of GCP data services
- Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business teams
- Implement CI/CD for data pipelines
- Monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Hands-on experience with:
- BigQuery
- Cloud Dataflow (Apache Beam)
- Cloud Composer (Airflow)
- Cloud Storage
- Pub/Sub
- Dataproc
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Experience with data modeling and warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of batch and streaming data processing
- Experience with APIs and data integration
Tools & Technologies
- Apache Airflow
- Spark / Hadoop
- Git / CI-CD tools
- Terraform (optional but preferred)
- Docker / Kubernetes (nice to have)
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering
- 2+ years of hands-on GCP experience
- GCP Professional Data Engineer certification (preferred)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder collaboration
- Ability to work in Agile environments
- Attention to detail
