 Procurement Manager - CPC - Infrastructure

Job Description

Job Purpose - The incumbent is expected to

  1. expected to receive purchase and work order requests from various internal stakeholders / business functions and validate the same technically and commercially
  2. engage both with internal stakeholders and external suppliers / vendors  / contractors for creating technically and commercially sound indent
  3. put up the request for orders / indents for processing into the work flow system 
  4. monitor and track deliveries and update status 

Job Responsibilities (JR) : 6 8 Areas 

Actionable (4-6)

JR 1

  • analyse and evaluate requests / indents for purchase of various non-IT capex items
  • communicate with the requestor in person, by telephone or writing discrepancies in the request vis--vis standard products and items approved and ensure adherence to approved products, rates and procedures
  • ensure the adequacy of the specifications
  • call for quotations from the approved vendor list
  • create indents for approvals as per delegation
  • verify accuracy of system generated indents 
  • develop draft manual orders for non standard items for approval
  • manage purchase / work orders amendments etc.
  • to coordinate with the vendors for delivery and keep the internal stakeholders updated
  • follow-up with the vendor for goods received in damaged condition for replacement

Educational Qualifications

Key Skills

  • Type / Approximate length of relevant work experience required to commence job
  • Graduate (experience of 2-3 years) / Degree in Materials Management / MBA (experience of 1-2)
  • Professional Qualification / Training required
  • Graduate / Degree in Materials Management / MBA

Technical Skills

  • MS Office and basic Computer Knowledge
  • Basic procurement software related knowledge
  • Knowledge of ERP application will be an added advantage
  • Skill in MS PowerPoint Presentation.

Soft Skills

  • Effective stakeholder management (internal and external) 
  • Sufficient email writing skills
  • Good communication skills across functions.
  • Team player, self-driven, taking initiative, enthusiastic.
  • Analytical and communicative, creative problem solving.

Experience Required

Minimum experience in years  

0-3 Years

Exposure to BFSI preferable

Major Stakeholders

  1. Internal (Project, Business, Admin., Finance etc.): 
  • To understand basic requirement of business. 
  • Receive guidance from supervisor and work together for both quality and quantity improvement
  • To coordinate for completion of respective tasks
  1. External Stakeholders (Vendors & Architects) :
  • To coordinate with the vendors for delivery of equipments.
