Position Overview:

The IT Infrastructure and Operations Team is a part of Wolters Kluwer Global Business Services (GBS). GBS is designed to provide services to business units in the areas of technology, sourcing, procurement, legal, finance, and accounting, including our North American Accounting Center. These global centers promote team collaboration using best practices around a specific focus area to drive results and enhance operational efficiencies. There is a constant endeavor to benchmark against best-in-class industry standards to improve the quality of deliverables, increase cost savings, enhance productivity, and reduce time to market for products and applications.

We are seeking an Associate Enterprise Software Engineer skilled in Cloud Operations, Automation Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence, capable of building resilient, scalable, and intelligent cloud environments through automation, data-driven decisions, and AI-enhanced workflows.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Deep understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and Serverless architectures.
  • Expertise in Azure ILB, App Gateway, Traffic Manager, and AWS VPC, Load Balancers, IAM, and Route 53.
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Experience in cloud migration (on-prem to cloud, hybrid deployments).
  • Knowledge of scaling, resilience, and disaster recovery in cloud-native designs.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Strong command of Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and PowerShell DSC.
  • Experience managing Terraform state files, configuration drift, and version-controlled infrastructure.
  • Implementation of automated provisioning pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS).

DevOps & Cloud Operations

  • Manage end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle provisioning, patching, scaling, and decommissioning.
  • Deep experience in CI/CD troubleshooting, release automation, and ITSM-integrated approval gates.
  • Apply cloud governance, compliance, tagging, and cost optimization policies.
  • Adhere to ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Hands-on exposure to service integration between AWS and Azure.

AI & Intelligent Automation

  • Implement AI-driven automation to optimize cloud operations, scaling, and incident response.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based AI scripts for predictive analytics and anomaly detection.
  • Integrate AI models and APIs for intelligent runbooks and automated remediation.
  • Experience with AIOps platforms and AI-based observability for performance optimization and noise reduction.
  • Build and train lightweight ML models for event correlation and ticket classification.
  • Utilize Generative AI tools for documentation, code assistance, and operational workflows.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

Operations & Support

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for AWS and Azure environments.
  • Automate operations and infrastructure using IaC, DevOps pipelines, and AI-powered automation.
  • Maintain near 100% system availability and proactively address performance or capacity issues.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to improve deployment and observability frameworks.
  • Ensure all processes are documented and continuously improved.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted CloudOps and automation-first practices.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for self-healing systems and predictive maintenance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis, SRE practices, and data-driven optimization initiatives.
  • Promote AI-based knowledge sharing, runbook automation, and workflow efficiency.

Relationships and engagement:

Implements Team engagement/ good communications with the Team and relevant stakeholders, for example, handling incidents, problems, and issues; managing resolutions; change management corrective actions and lessons learned collection and dissemination of pertinent information. Uses Feedback from customers and stakeholders for an effective work relationship.

Job Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related field

Experience

  • 1-2 years of Cloud Operations, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Hands-on experience in AI-based automation or Python is highly desirable

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Certification in AWS and Azure will be preferred.
  • Terraform Associate
  • AI or ML Certification

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Innovative approach with a focus on AI-driven automation and efficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels and functions
