Job Description
- Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and implement laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure company compliance.
- Risk Assessment: Identify, assess, and manage potential compliance risks associated with business operations .
- Policy Development: Draft, update, and implement internal policies and procedures.
- Internal Auditing: Conduct regular audits of processes, documents, and practices to identify weaknesses.
- Training & Education: Educate employees on compliance regulations, ethical conduct, and the consequences of non-compliance.
- Investigation & Reporting: Investigate potential compliance issues,, recommend corrective actions, and report findings to senior management or the board.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with legal, risk, and business units, as well as external regulators.
A Compliance Officer ensures a company operates within legal, regulatory, and internal policy boundaries to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Key duties include designing compliance programs, conducting audits, training employees, managing risks, and reporting to senior management. They safeguard the organizations reputation by identifying, investigating, and mitigating compliance breaches.
