Job Title: AWS Redshift SQL Developer

Location: Offshore - Mumbai , Pune , Bangalore , Chennai , Hyderabad
Working Hours: Starlight shift 2.30 PM to 11.30 PM IST

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced AWS Redshift SQL Developer to optimize queries, enhance data flows, and support our migration from Teradata to Redshift. The role involves SQL tuning, performance diagnostics, and collaboration with data engineering teams to ensure scalable and efficient ETL pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize Redshift queries, tune SQL, and improve performance using best practices (DISTKEY/SORTKEY, compression, join optimization, materialized views).
• Convert and optimize Teradata SQL to Redshift equivalents.
• Review and refine Redshift table designs, distribution styles, and sort key strategies.
• Monitor cluster performance using QEP, SVL/STL tables, and console dashboards; recommend performance improvements.
• Support DataStage teams in optimizing ETL workflows and data load processes (COPY/INSERT).
• Create and document Redshift SQL tuning guidelines and provide knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Experience

• 58 years of SQL development with strong performance tuning expertise.
• Deep knowledge of AWS Redshift (MPP, WLM, dist/sort keys).
• Experience converting Teradata SQL to Redshift.
• Ability to read execution plans and system tables.
• Experience with ETL tools (preferably IBM DataStage).
• Good to have: familiarity with S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM.
• Strong analytical skills, collaboration abilities, and clear communication.
