Job Description
We are seeking a Language Expert Consultant to drive the development of high-quality Language Technologies for a wide array of Indian indigenous and regional languages. You will act as the primary bridge between native linguistic communities and our technical engineering teams to ensure cultural nuance, grammatical accuracy, and data integrity in our models.
Key Responsibilities
- Linguistic Resource Development: Oversee the creation, annotation, and validation of datasets for diverse language groups including:
- Indo-Aryan: Assamese, Bengali, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Urdu.
- Dravidian: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Kurukh, Malto, Gondi.
- Tibeto-Burman & Austroasiatic: Manipuri (Meitei), Bodo, Garo, Khasi, Santali, Ho, Mundari.
- Others: Bhilodi/Bhili.
- Community Engagement: Leverage your strong network within Native Speaker Communities to source authentic linguistic data and recruit native annotators.
- Tech Integration: Collaborate with NLP (Natural Language Processing) engineers to refine algorithms, evaluate model outputs, and ensure the technology respects linguistic syntax and semantics
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Linguistic Mastery: Native or near-native proficiency in at least 23 of the listed languages, with a broad understanding of the phonetic and grammatical structures of others.
- Community Network: A proven track record of working with indigenous groups, tribal councils, or regional linguistic academic bodies.
- Tech Savvy: Good understanding of how technology (AI, Speech-to-Text, Machine Translation) utilizes data. Familiarity with Unicode, localization tools, or basic Python is a significant plus..
