Role Overview
Seeking a ServiceNow QA/Tester with strong hands-on experience in Automated Test Framework (ATF) to design, build, and execute automated and manual tests across ITSM, CSM, and ITOM. The role involves building scalable ATF suites, maintaining regression packs, validating integrations, and ensuring platform quality during enhancements and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain ATF test suites (functional, regression, smoke, and upgrade tests) for ITSM, CSM, and ITOM processes.
- Build reusable ATF test steps for Catalog Items, Flows/Workflows, SLAs, Approvals, Case/Incident/Change flows, Discovery/Event/CMDB use cases.
- Perform end-to-end testing across modules: Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, Service Catalog/Requests (ITSM); Case, Entitlements, SLAs, Portals (CSM); Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management/Health Log Analytics, CMDB (ITOM).
- Validate integrations and data flows (e.g., REST/SOAP, MID Server, IntegrationHub, Webhooks) and assert payloads, transforms, and CMDB updates.
- Create and manage test data strategies (subprod clones, data seeding, masking) and environment readiness.
- Execute defect lifecycle management (log, triage, reproduce, retest), partnering with developers and product owners.
- Optimize test stability, reduce flakiness, and continuously improve test coverage and execution time.
- Support instance upgrades (family releases), patch testing, and store app updates with ATF coverage.
- Contribute to release management/CI-CD (test gating, quality criteria) and provide test reports/metrics.
- Document test plans, cases, traceability to user stories/requirements; support UAT and cutover.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-8 years in QA with 2+ years hands-on ATF on ServiceNow.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow data model (tables, relationships, ACLs), Flow Designer/Workflows, Client/Server scripts (for assertion awareness).
- Proven testing experience across ITSM (Incident/Problem/Change/Request/SLAs/CMDB), CSM (Case, SLAs, Contracts/Entitlements, Portal), and ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB health).
- Proficiency in:
- ATF test design (server/client tests, UI tests, REST messages validations, catalog tests).
- API testing (REST/SOAP), Postman or equivalent.
- Data validation (CMDB, Transform Maps, Import Sets).
- Familiarity with cloning strategies, subprod testing, and test data management.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Jira/Azure DevOps (or similar).
Certifications (Preferred)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Micro-certifications (ATF, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub if available)
- ISTQB Foundation (or equivalent QA certification)
- On-time, quality sign-offs for releases/upgrades
- Jira/Azure DevOps, Confluence, Postman
- (Optional) Jenkins/Azure DevOps Pipelines, Git
