Position Overview

Position Title: Vertical finance officer - Lead

Location: Bangalore

Scope

As the Vertical Finance officer, you will be the finance & commercial excellence advisor to the Global Business Head/Strategic Client Partners, in giving strategies & drill down specific goals to Business units to improve price realization ever year and to improve the profitability. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to drive the culture change towards financial management of business, identify and drive initiatives to improve overall business performance and drive profitable business growth of their businesses. With a high level of business acumen, your key responsibilities will include:

  • To enhance the performance and agility of the verticals. Identify opportunities/ideas to double the target on business performance and drive initiatives to deliver desired results.
  • Identify profit zones & Investment zones for the vertical and each of its major customers. Collaborate on expansion strategy.
  • Provide P&L insights to generate profitable growth (margin expansion with scaling of business)
  • Own Pricing governance, renewals via robust contract management to improve margins
  • Providing strong SGA cost control/optimisation and investments review driving actions and implementing
  • To ensure adequate financial hygiene of the business thru better project finance management
  • Revenue and margin forecast
  • Timely & accurate business and financial information & analytics
  • Work on data points around bill rates, cost, COLA, etc modelling commercial/rate negotiations
  • Own Planning & Budgeting process, APT, EPT
  • Oversee the financial integration of the acquired entities
  • Ensure DSOs are in line with payment terms
  • Own and have a robust governance to monitor vertical financials actions in various operating rhythms (MRMs, QRMS, StraPs, HLMs and ALMs)
  • To provide necessary training to the vertical Sales and Delivery organization on financial health management
  • To be the Single point of contact for all finance queries to Global Business Heads and Vertical Delivery Leader.

Candidate Profile

Ownership mindset, founders mentality who can shape pricing principles, deal economics, terms & conditions to create winnable proposition. The person is the trusted partner to the business team to deliver a profitable growth

Ideal candidate:

  • Proven 10-15 years of experience in IT/ER&D services industry
  • In-depth understanding of how pricing and commercial issues affect organization
  • Experience in authoring complex models; experienced in negotiating master service contracts and long-term agreements.
  • Act as a finance business partner to Sales, Operations, and Leadership teams.
  • Drive revenue forecasting, margin analysis, and profitability improvement initiatives.
  • Review SOWs, commercial proposals, and contracts to ensure financial viability.
  • Monitor Business Unit performance revenue, utilization, gross margin, and contribution margin.
  • Results driven, high energy, self-motivated, persistent and able to work independently.
  • Decisive, analytical, strategic thinker.

Governance and Quest Global Systems

  • Maintain standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with leadership assessment and development protocols.
  • Coordinate across systems (e.g., Financial systems, revenue assurance procedures, cost guidelines) to ensure leadership data is synced and accurate.
  • Support audit readiness and reporting requirements for leadership development activities
