JOB DESCRIPTION Senior Secondary Arts Teacher (Classes XIXII)
Experience: Minimum 3 Years (Senior Secondary preferred)
1. Role Summary
The Senior Secondary Arts (Humanities) Teacher will be responsible for delivering concept-driven, analytical, and exam-oriented instruction in Arts subjects (History, Political Science, Geography) for Classes XI and XII.
2. Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Subject Expertise
- Teach assigned Arts subject(s) for Classes XIXII as per the CBSE/RBSE syllabus.
- Deliver structured lessons aligned with board patterns and marking schemes.
- Encourage analytical thinking, discussions, and answer-writing skills.
Academic Planning & Curriculum Execution
- Prepare annual academic planners, lesson plans, and revision schedules.
- Ensure timely syllabus completion with adequate revision and practice.
- Develop worksheets, projects, maps, case studies, and question banks.
Assessment & Board Exam Preparation
- Set question papers, conduct tests, and evaluate answer sheets.
- Train students in structured answers, map work (where applicable), and time management.
- Identify learning gaps and conduct remedial or enrichment sessions.
Student Mentoring & Career Guidance
- Mentor students on academic progress, confidence, and subject interest.
- Guide students regarding higher studies and career options in humanities and social sciences.
- Maintain discipline and promote academic integrity.
Parent & Academic Coordination
- Communicate student performance updates and improvement plans to parents.
- Coordinate with Academic Coordinators and fellow teachers.
- Participate in academic meetings, training, and workshops.
Professional & School Responsibilities
- Participate in school events, examinations, and duties assigned.
- Follow academic policies, documentation standards, and timelines.
- Engage in continuous professional development.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong subject mastery and analytical teaching skills.
- Board-exam-oriented approach and evaluation skills.
- Ability to engage students through discussion and contextual examples.
- Effective classroom management and mentoring abilities.
- Clear communication and academic planning skills.
