Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• BI Solution Development: Design, build, and publish Power BI reports/dashboards with efficient data models, measures (DAX), and row-level security (RLS).
• Azure Data Integration: Ingest, transform, and orchestrate data using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and/or Azure Synapse Pipelines; develop dataflows and scheduled refreshes.
• Data Engineering Collaboration: Work with Data Engineers on Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance, Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL Pools), Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Delta/Parquet formats for analytical workloads.
• Performance Optimization: Profile and tune Power Query (M), DAX measures, model relationships, and aggregations; leverage Performance Analyzer and Query Diagnostics.
• DevOps & Lifecycle: Use Power BI Deployment Pipelines, source control (e.g., Git/Azure Repos), and CI/CD for semantic models and reports.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Translate business requirements into user stories, define KPIs, and deliver compelling visual analytics and ad-hoc analysis.

• 36 years of hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop & Service (Data Modeling, DAX, Power Query).
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (pipelines, triggers, linked services, integration runtime) or Synapse Pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL (window functions, CTEs, performance tuning).
• Experience with Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance and/or Azure Synapse Serverless/Dedicated SQL Pools.
• Experience with Power BI security (RLS/OLS), workspace governance, and Power BI Apps.
• Ability to work with large datasets and optimize model performance (composite models, aggregations, incremental refresh).
