Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Proficiency in any drafting tool like AutoCAD ElectricalEPLAN or similar CAD tools for creating schematic diagrams, panel layouts, etc. Understanding of symbols, electrical components, basic idea about PI diagram and ability to interpret and incorporate specifications from manufacturers' datasheets
Primary Competencies
- Electrical Drawing & Drafting using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD tools.
- Ability to create schematic diagrams, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and cable schedules.
- Understanding of symbols, wire numbering, and cross-referencing.
- Basic Knowledge of Electrical Standards
- Familiarity with standards like IEC, NEC, IEEE, or IS.
- Understanding of standard electrical practices for panel design, grounding, protection, etc.
- Electrical Components & Control Systems
- Knowledge of components like relays, contactors, MCBs, PLC I/O modules, drives, and sensors.
- Ability to interpret and incorporate specifications from manufacturers' datasheets.
- Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with design engineers, panel builders, and site teams.
- Effective communication to clarify technical issues or drawing discrepancies.
- Experience with site surveys, as-built verification, or redline markup during commissioning
Role & responsibilities
Create accurate, detailed technical drawings for electrical and mechanical systems.
- Collect, study, and combine rough sketches and initial design ideas from engineers into coherent technical drafts for further study and review by the project managers.
- Major Role will be for electrical drawings, schematics, component/cable sizing for industrial panels and GA drawings, location diagrams, etc.
- Prepare comprehensive wiring diagrams for electrical and mechanical fabrication drawing for equipment mounting according to project objectives, design information and engineering specifications.
- Check that final technical drafts and drawings include all relevant information in an easy-to-read format, and verify that the calculations, measurements, and units are accurate based on initial design information from engineers.
- Participate in the design process by supporting engineers and designers, contributing ideas and information, and creating rough sketches and diagrams of electrical and mechanical systems on the fly.
- Based on the information/updates from the site, prepare/modify drawing to build As-Built drawings.
- Work with vendors and customers, review their documents and drawings and incorporate the same in the project drawings.
Preferred candidate profile
Industrial Automation Electrical Systems Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Able to work in a team for any assigned project.
- Working Knowledge on EPlan Electrical is a must.
- Working Knowledge on Autocad 2D is a must.
- Basic knowledge of Autocad 3D designing.
- Basic knowledge of Autocad mechanical designing.
- Should have sufficient knowledge for drafting layouts/GA for panels, enclosures, equipment/sensors.
