Job Description
Role & responsibilities
A] Team Leadership & Resource Development
- Lead and manage a QA team of 4 engineers, including task allocation, mentoring, and performance monitoring.
- Groom team members through training, knowledge sharing, and skill development.
- Conduct regular test case reviews, QA audits, and quality checks on team deliverables.
- Ensure team adherence to defined QA processes, standards, and best practices.
B] QA Strategy & Process Improvement
- Define and implement QA strategy, test frameworks, and testing standards across projects.
- Establish and maintain test plans, test cases, regression suites, and QA documentation.
- Introduce and expand automation testing practices for faster and more reliable testing cycles.
- Continuously improve QA processes using modern tools, AI-assisted testing, and automation frameworks.
C] Testing Execution & Quality Assurance
- Oversee testing activities, including:
- Functional testing
- Regression testing
- Cross-browser and cross-device testing
- Performance and security validation
- Ensure thorough testing of e-commerce platforms, web applications, and integrations.
- Monitor bug tracking, prioritisation, and resolution using tools like Jira.
D] Ecommerce & Platform Quality
- Ensure quality across Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), ecommerce websites, and custom web applications.
- Validate critical ecommerce workflows such as:
- Product catalog
- Checkout process
- Payments
- Promotions
- Customer accounts
- Integrations with third-party services.
E] Tools, Automation & AI
- Identify and implement tools that improve QA efficiency.
- Drive adoption of automation frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, etc.) where applicable.
- Leverage AI-powered QA tools for test generation, bug detection, and performance analysis.
- Implement monitoring tools for performance, usability, and user behavior analysis.
F] Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with developers, architects, business teams, and project managers to ensure quality deliverables.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and release readiness.
- Provide QA insights during solution design and requirement discussions.
- Ensure timely reporting of QA status, risks, and quality metrics.
Preferred candidate profile
Required Skills & Experience
A] Experience
- 610 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- 24 years of experience leading QA teams.
- Experience testing e-commerce websites or digital platforms.
B] Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:
- SDLC & STLC processes
- Functional, regression, and exploratory testing
- Bug lifecycle and defect tracking
- Cross-browser and responsive testing
- Experience with QA tools such as:
- Jira / Bug tracking tools
- Automation tools (Cypress, Selenium, Playwright or similar)
- Performance testing tools (Lighthouse, GTMetrix, PageSpeed etc.)
C] Platform Knowledge
- Experience working with:
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud (preferred)
- Ecommerce platforms
- Web technologies such as React, Next.js, APIs, and web services
D] Additional Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to review complex solutions and identify potential risks
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional and international teams
E] Nice to Have
- API testing experience (Postman, REST tools)
- Basic knowledge of performance testing and security testing
- Experience with AI-based QA tools or test automation platforms
- Familiarity with analytics, heatmap, or site monitoring tools
