Job Description
Dear Applicant,
PFB the JD
- Translate UI Design Specifications into scalable, reusable, production-ready UI components.
- Contribute to and maintain a multi-product design system in Storybook.
- Build and maintain design token pipelines (colors, typography, spacing, motion, elevation, semantic tokens).
- Establish robust theming strategies (white-labeling, multi-tenant configurations).
- Ensure pixel-level fidelity between Figma and production.
- Advocate for semantic HTML, resilient CSS architecture, and accessibility-first implementation.
- Build guardrails and documentation that help frontend teams implement UI correctly and consistently.
- Establish design-to-code automation workflows (Figma APIs, token sync, component generation).
- Integrate automated visual regression testing and accessibility checks into CI/CD.
- Collaborate closely with UX, product, accessibility, and frontend teams to maintain UI integrity.
Core Frontend Craft
- 5+ years in UX engineering, design systems, or frontend roles with strong UI focus.
- Deep expertise in modern CSS:
- CSS architecture (BEM, CUBE CSS, utility-first systems)
- CSS variables & cascade layers, Container queries, Layout systems (Flexbox, Grid)
- Responsive design at scale
- Strong proficiency in:
- Semantic HTML, CSS / Sass / PostCSS, TypeScript + React
Design Systems & Tooling
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries in Storybook.
- Experience with token systems (Style Dictionary, CSS custom properties, multi-theme architectures).
- Experience publishing reusable packages (npm, monorepos, internal registries).
- Familiarity with inspecting design specs using Figma Dev Mode or Zeplin with primary work happening in code.
- Vite / Webpack, ESLint , Prettier, Stylelint, Lighthouse or axe-core automation
- Experience in implementing Accessibility solutions (WCAG 2.2 AA / Section 508)
Bonus Points
- Contributions to public design systems (e.g., USWDS, Material UI, Carbon, Lightning) or open-source libraries.
- Experience integrating design tokens pipelines into CI/CD workflows.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks for components (Storybook test runners, Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
- Exposure to regulated or civic-tech environments (federal/state apps, compliance frameworks).
- Knowledge of AI-assisted design-to-code tools (Cursor, ChatGPT Codex, Claude Code, V0.dev or others)
