Job Description

    District Manager - The District Manager is responsible for driving regional sales performance by leading and guiding a team of Sales Officers. The role focuses on executing sales strategies, strengthening distribution networks, managing distributor relationships, and ensuring operational excellence in the market. The position requires strong leadership, market understanding, and the ability to drive team performance to achieve business growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Execution & Target Achievement

    • Drive achievement of regional sales targets through effective team management.

    • Implement sales and distribution strategies across the assigned territory.

    • Monitor performance metrics and ensure adherence to sales plans and productivity norms.

    • Conduct regular market visits to track trends, distributor performance, and retail coverage.

    Sales Planning & Market Expansion

    • Develop and execute territory sales plans in alignment with business goals.

    • Ensure strong market and outlet coverage across assigned areas.

    • Identify opportunities for new selling arrangements and market expansion.

    Distributor Management

    • Drive distributor acquisition and expansion across the region.

    • Maintain strong relationships with distributors and resolve operational issues.

    • Evaluate distributor infrastructure and performance to ensure business efficiency.

    • Support critical negotiations and manage distributor conflicts when required.

    Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead, coach, and motivate Sales Officers to achieve performance targets.

    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide on-ground support.

    • Identify skill gaps and support team development and training initiatives.

    • Build a strong talent pipeline and maintain team engagement.

    Market Intelligence & Coordination

    • Gather market insights, competitor activities, and customer feedback.

    • Analyze MIS reports to improve sales performance and planning.

    • Coordinate with internal teams including finance, logistics, marketing, and HR.


    Candidate must have - Graduation in any discipline, 8+ years of sales experience, with at least 4 years in the FMCG industry, Strong experience in sales team handling and distribution management in Eastern India.
