Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Head of Security is responsible for leading the company's security function across all locations, ensuring the protection of people, premises, assets, and operations. The role includes security strategy, physical security management, risk assessment, investigations, compliance, emergency preparedness, and vendor management. The ideal candidate should have strong multi location security experience, preferably in manufacturing or operationally intensive businesses, with proven ability to build disciplined systems and reduce business risk.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Leadership
- Develop and implement the overall security strategy for the company
- Establish security standards, policies, SOPs, and control mechanisms across all business units
- Build a disciplined and prevention focused security culture
- Advise leadership on security risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigation plans
- Prepare annual security plans, budgets, and manpower proposals
2. Physical Security Management
- Oversee security operations across factories, offices, warehouses, showrooms, and other sites
- Ensure effective management of guards, supervisors, access points, and surveillance systems
- Strengthen visitor management, gate control, key control, restricted access, and material movement checks
- Monitor the effectiveness of CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security infrastructure
- Safeguard company assets, stock, tools, equipment, and sensitive business areas
3. Risk Assessment and Prevention
- Conduct regular security risk assessments across all locations
- Identify vulnerabilities related to theft, pilferage, intrusion, vandalism, fraud, sabotage, and internal threats
- Recommend and implement preventive actions to reduce losses and security exposure
- Support risk evaluation for new locations, expansions, and major operational changes
4. Incident Management and Investigations
- Lead response to security incidents including theft, breach of access, suspicious activity, violence, and misconduct
- Conduct and supervise investigations into incidents involving loss, fraud, collusion, or policy violations
- Ensure all incidents are properly documented, investigated, escalated, and closed with corrective action
- Coordinate with HR, Legal, Admin, Operations, and external authorities where required
5. Security Compliance and Governance
- Ensure security practices are aligned with internal policies and statutory requirements
- Conduct regular audits and compliance reviews across all locations
- Maintain records of incidents, access logs, material movement, guard deployment, and exceptions
- Review the performance of security agencies and ensure agreed service standards are maintained
6. Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management
- Develop response plans for emergencies such as fire, intrusion, civil disturbance, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations
- Conduct mock drills and emergency readiness exercises
- Ensure teams understand escalation protocols and response responsibilities
- Support business continuity planning from a security perspective
7. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with HR, Admin, Legal, IT, Operations, Logistics, and site leaders
- Support leadership visits, important events, and sensitive operations with appropriate security planning
- Partner with internal teams where physical and systems security overlap
8. Team and Vendor Management
- Lead, train, and monitor internal security teams and external security agencies
- Set performance expectations and review team effectiveness regularly
- Build capability within the security team through training and structured supervision
- Ensure round the clock readiness where business operations require it
9. Reporting and Review
- Publish regular reports and dashboards on incidents, risks, losses, compliance, and action plans
- Present major security issues and recommendations to leadership
- Track patterns, root causes, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement

Preferred candidate profile
Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline
- Additional qualification in Security Management, Industrial Security, Risk Management, Administration, or related field will be preferred
- Candidates with background in armed forces, police, paramilitary, industrial security, or large corporate security environments may be preferred
Experience
- 10 to 18 years of relevant experience in security management
- Proven experience handling security across multiple locations
- Strong exposure to factory security, asset protection, investigations, and security operations
- Experience in manufacturing, consumer durables, infrastructure, logistics, retail, or similar multi location businesses will be preferred
