Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• Core Data Modeling
• Strong expertise in conceptual, logical, physical modeling
• Proficiency with modeling tools such as: 
• ER/Studio, Erwin, Lucidchart, PowerDesigner, or Microsoft Fabric data modeling tools
• Deep understanding of: 
• 3NF, star/snowflake schemas, Data Vault 2.0, and denormalized lakehouse models
• Surrogate keys, hierarchies, reference/master data structures
• Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Types 1/2/3)
• Fact/Dimension modeling and grain definitions
• Modern Data Platform Experience
• Experience modeling in: 
• Lakehouse architectures (Databricks Delta Lake, Fabric Lakehouse)
• Cloud data warehouses (Synapse Dedicated, Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Azure SQL/MI for operational/reporting stores
• Understanding of: 
• Schema evolution
• Columnar storage formats (Delta, Parquet)
• Distributed processing constraints (Spark engines)
• Data Governance & Quality
• Experience with data dictionaries, glossaries, lineage, and governance tools (Microsoft Purview, Collibra).
• Familiarity with metadata management, PII classification, RBAC, and regulatory data handling.
• Soft Skills
• Strong communication, onboarding, and ability to simplify complexity.
• Proficient in running cross-functional workshops with business and engineering teams.
• Highly organized and documentation-driven.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview for governance and lineage 
• Knowledge of Synapse serverless SQL pools, KQL, Timeseries analytics 
• Expertise in MLOps: Databricks Feature Store, Model Registry, Fabric ML workloads 
• Background in Data Science (Python, ML frameworks) 
• Experience designing solutions for: 
• Customer 360 platforms
• Supply chain analytics
• Digital media analytics
• Experience with cost governance and FinOps 
• Certifications (nice to have): 
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer/Architect
• Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer)
