Overview
We are seeking a Workday Test Analyst with strong experience in Payroll and Benefits testing to support a large-scale global HR transformation program. This role will focus on validating end-to-end Workday functionality and downstream integrations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across payroll and benefits processes.
The Test Analyst will work under the direction of Regional Test Leads and collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and third-party vendors to support testing activities across multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end testing for Workday Payroll and Benefits across SIT, UAT, and regression cycles, validating full employee lifecycle processes and ensuring data accuracy across systems
- Perform payroll and benefits validation, including gross-to-net calculations, deductions, taxes, eligibility rules, enrollment events, and parallel payroll testing/reconciliation
- Support integration testing and data validation between Workday and downstream systems (e.g., payroll vendors, benefits providers), including file/interface validation (EIBs, inbound/outbound feeds)
- Manage defect lifecycle, including identification, logging, triage support, retesting, and resolution tracking using tools like JIRA or ALM
- Collaborate with Regional Test Leads, HR, Payroll, IT, and vendors to support test execution, status reporting, issue resolution, and test sign-off activities while maintaining proper documentation and audit readiness
Required Qualifications
- 37+ years of experience in Workday testing or HRIS testing
- Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll and/or Benefits modules
- Strong understanding of Payroll processes (gross-to-net, deductions, taxes), Benefits lifecycle (eligibility, enrollment, vendor integrations)
- Experience with SIT, UAT, and regression testing cycles
- Familiarity with testing tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM)
- Experience validating integrations and data flows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in global or multi-country environments
- Exposure to payroll vendors (ADP, SAP, etc.)
- Prior experience supporting large-scale transformations or carve-outs
- Knowledge of Workday releases and impact testing
- Experience with EIBs, PECI, or benefits vendor files.
