About the Role :We are looking for a hands-on Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to own and scale our cloud platform across multiple projects and environments. You will design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform with a strong emphasis on environment isolation, state management discipline, and operational safety.
Required Skills & Experience
Infrastructure as Code
- 4+ years writing production Terraform modules, variables, locals, data sources, count/for_each, outputs
- Deep understanding of remote state: backend configuration, state key design, locking, and workspace or path-based isolation
- Experience managing multi-environment setups whether through Terragrunt, workspaces, directory-per-env, or similar
- Design reusable Terraform modules, blueprints, and environment templates.
- Create standardized platform offerings for application teams networking constructs, observability bundles, security patterns.
- Collaborate with development teams to support cloudnative architectures (microservices, API gateways, messaging systems)
Azure Services
- Core compute: App Service Plans (Windows and Linux), Azure Functions, autoscaling
- Storage: Azure Storage Accounts (blob, queue, table, file), private endpoints, network rules
- Observability: Log Analytics Workspaces, Application Insights
- CDN / routing: Azure Front Door (Standard/Premium) or equivalent CDN/WAF product experience
Networking & Security
- VNets, subnets, Private Endpoints, Private DNS Zones and how DNS resolution flows through them
- Key Vault: networking, access policies, purge protection, Managed Identities (user-assigned)
- Multi-region Azure environments (North Central US / South Central US or similar)
DevOps & Platform Operations
- Azure DevOps: pipelines, Git repos, PR-based change control for infrastructure
- CI/CD patterns for IaC including pipeline gates that block apply on unreviewed destroy actions. Build automation beyond IaC (Azure CLI/PowerShell/Bash, automation accounts).
- Implement automated testing frameworks for infrastructure (Terratest, Checkov).
- Experience managing infrastructure for multiple simultaneous projects without cross-contamination
- Manage development, staging, and production environment consistency and drift detection.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering role
- 3+ years working primarily on Azure not just Azure familiarity transferred from AWS or GCP
- Production experience with Terraform in a multi-environment setup
- Demonstrable experience managing infrastructure for multiple simultaneous projects
- Nice to have: CIS Azure Benchmark controls and their impact on resource configuration
- Nice to have: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect) certification
