Position : R&D Lead botanical Extracts
Experience Required : 20 + Years
Qualification: PG in Ayurveda, Phytochemistry. PhD is desirable
Job Summary
Lead the R&D initiatives for Biological Extracts. Build strategy, team and infrastructure for R&D. Frame Proprietary Product Development Plan in line with the Business Strategy. Manage team to accomplish NPD, Quality, Safety and Technical Service Goals. Liaise with partners in NPD and Manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibility Area
Lead and manage a team of scientists and technicians who conduct research and development on botanical extracts and their applications in various fields such as nutraceuticals, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, etc.
Plan, design, execute, and supervise experiments and trials to isolate, identify, characterize, and standardize active ingredients and phytochemicals from various plant sources using analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, NMR, etc.
Develop novel and innovative botanical extracts and formulations that meet the quality, safety, efficacy, and regulatory standards of the target markets and customers
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders such as production, quality, marketing, sales, regulatory, academic, and industry partners to ensure the successful launch and commercialization of botanical products
Monitor and evaluate the latest scientific and technological trends and developments in the field of botanical extracts and identify new opportunities and challenges for the company
Prepare and present scientific reports, publications, patents, and presentations to communicate the research findings and outcomes to various audiences
Conduct technical negotiations and communicate directly with service provides, instrument manufacturers and investigate machinery requirements for green technology implementation (R&D and Plant setup)
Qualifications & Skills
Professional Degree or PhD in Ayurveda, phytochemistry, natural products chemistry, pharmacognosy, with at least 20 years of relevant experience in the R&D of botanical extracts
A strong knowledge and understanding of the chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and bioactivity of botanical extracts and their mechanisms of action
A proven track record of leading and managing R&D projects and teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
A high level of creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills
A proficient use of various analytical instruments and software for data analysis and interpretation
A good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse and cross-functional teams
A familiarity with the regulatory and quality requirements and standards for botanical products in different regions and countries
