Job Description:
Project Manager with 68 years of experience managing medium to large-scale IT projects, particularly in Java Full Stack Web and Mobile Application Development. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in client engagement, project governance, cross-functional team leadership, and delivery excellence across global teams. This role requires close collaboration with clients located in the US and India, and the ability to work in PST hours from India.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Java full stack Web and Mobile development projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and delivery plans.
- Oversee sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, and deployment coordination.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients in the US and India.
- Conduct regular client meetings, demos, governance reporting, and status communication.
- Manage expectations, negotiate scope changes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Team & Resource Management
- Manage cross-functional teams including developers, QA engineers, designers, and DevOps resources across multiple locations.
- Oversee resource planning, onboarding, workload balancing, and productivity tracking.
- Review and manage timesheets, leave planning, and resource utilization metrics.
Project Governance & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation including RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Track and report KPIs such as progress, velocity, burn-down rates, and milestone completion.
- Ensure adherence to SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and organizational PMO standards.
Financial & Cost Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost baselines.
- Track project financials including billing, invoicing, and revenue projections.
- Monitor variance and implement cost-control measures.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Implement and manage change control processes.
- Escalate critical items to leadership with recommended resolution plans.
Collaboration & Integration Management
- Coordinate across functional teams such as Infrastructure, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture.
- Drive vendor collaboration when required.
- Facilitate seamless integration between modules, APIs, backend systems, and third-party platforms
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Masters degree (MBA/Technology Management) is a plus.
Technical & Delivery Experience
- 6-8 years of proven experience in IT Project Management delivering medium to large-scale software development projects.
- Minimum 4-6 years managing projects involving Java Full Stack technologies (Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, React/Angular, Web & Mobile).
- Strong understanding of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, React/Angular, Android/iOS development concepts.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery frameworks, DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and quality governance.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
Project Management Skills
- Expertise in project planning, estimation, scheduling, and task management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Confluence, etc.).
- Experience managing distributed teams across US, and India. Exceptional communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
Client Management
- Proven experience engaging with US and Indian clientsleading calls, workshops, demos, and negotiations.
- Ability to handle escalations, manage delivery expectations, and maintain strong customer relationships.
Other Requirements
- Comfortable working night shifts aligned to PST.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- PMP, CSM, or equivalent certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
Time Zone Preference
- US Pacific Time Zone Overlap (7PM IST - 4AM IST)
