Job Description
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Own BI solution design end-to-end (data model semantic layer
- reports/dashboards).
- Define and enforce standards for star/snowflake modeling, metrics, and naming.
- Guide performance optimization (query tuning, aggregations, partitions, incremental
- refresh).
- Establish governance: metric definitions, RLS/security, documentation, and review
- gates.
- Implement version control and CI/CD for BI assets; promote safely across
- environments.
- Mentor BI engineers/analysts; review code (DAX/SQL), templates, and design
- patterns.
- Partner with Product/Data/Architecture to align scope, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Support production run: incident triage, quality monitoring, and post-mortems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong dimensional modeling and advanced SQL.
- Expert in at least one BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) including semantic
- modeling.
- Proven experience optimizing BI performance and managing large-scale datasets.
- Hands-on with Git and basic CI/CD for BI/ELT assets and testing.
- Working knowledge of data quality, governance, and security (incl.
- RLS/permissions).
- Clear communication, stakeholder leadership, and pragmatic problem-solving.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Power BI Tabular/DAX or LookML expertise; MDX experience a plus.
- Orchestration/ELT exposure (dbt, Airflow) and data contracts with upstream teams.
- Observability for BI (usage/adoption, refresh health, cost/perf metrics).
- UX for data visualization and accessibility standards.
- Experience running multi-tenant workspaces and Center-of-Excellence practices.
