Job Description
Performance Engineer (Senior / Specialist)
Whats the role?
You will design, execute, and evolve performance engineering practices across a distributed platform, ensuring systems scale reliably under real-world conditions. This role blends hands-on testing, system analysis, and automation, with growing use of AI-assisted tooling to improve speed and insight.
How will you make an impact?
- Design and execute performance, load, and scalability tests across services and systems.
- Analyze throughput, latency, and system behavior under realistic usage patterns.
- Identify and diagnose performance bottlenecks across application, API, and database layers.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system performance and scalability early in the lifecycle.
- Build and maintain performance test suites and reusable frameworks.
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation.
- Define and track performance baselines, SLAs (Service Level Agreements), and key metrics.
- Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate test creation, analysis, and anomaly detection.
- Contribute to best practices and standards for performance engineering across teams.
- Support production investigations and provide data-driven recommendations.
Have you got what it takes?
- 712 years of experience in performance testing or performance engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with tools like JMeter, Gatling, BlazeMeter, or similar.
- Solid programming skills in Java, C#, or similar.
- Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Experience analyzing system performance metrics and bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
- Experience with API testing and automation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus).
- Experience with production traffic modeling and usage simulation.
- Exposure to AI/LLM-based tools for testing or analysis.
