Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer in Testing to join our QA team In this role you will be responsible for designing developing and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and performance of our applications You will work closely with developers business analysts and DevOps engineers to deliver high quality software in a fast paced Agile environment Familiarity with Unix Linux environments and strong database skills are essential for this role
Key Responsibilities:
Design develop and maintain scalable and robust automation test frameworks for web API and backend services
Collaborate with developers and business teams to understand application functionality and translate it into effective test strategies
Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python or similar programing language
Set up and maintain CICD pipelines to integrate automated tests using tools like Jenkins GitHub or similar
Perform root cause analysis of failed tests and assist in debugging and triaging issues
Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Execute manual tests when necessary and contribute to test documentation
Work extensively with Unix Linux systems for deployment test environment configuration and log analysis
Write and optimize SQL queries for test validation and data setup analyze large data sets from relational databases such as MS SQL Sybase
Drive test coverage improvements and best practices for test automation within the team
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
5 years of experience in automation testing with a strong background in software QA methodologies and tools
Proficiency in at least one programmingscripting language such as Java Python or Shell
Experience working in UnixLinux environments including writing shell scripts and using Unix commandline tools
Strong understanding of relational databases and advanced SQL skills
Experience with RESTful API testing and tools like Postman or similar
Familiarity with AgileScrum development methodologies
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
Experience with performance testing tools eg JMeter Gatling is a plus
ISTQB certification or other QArelated certifications
Experience in banking capital markets or other financial domains is strongly preferred
