Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Incident Management
- Provide 24*7 production support as part of a rotating on-call schedule
- Act as Primary On-Call Engineer during assigned shifts:
- Monitor production systems and alerts (e.g., ServiceNow, PagerDuty)
- Triage and respond to incidents within defined SLAs
- Lead incident bridges and coordinate resolution across teams
- Participate as Secondary On-Call Engineer (standby):
- Support escalations and high-severity incidents (P1/P2)
- Be available and responsive when engaged
System Monitoring & Reliability
- Continuously monitor application health, infrastructure, and system performance
- Identify anomalies, failures, and performance degradation proactively
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of production systems
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Work on stability and reliability improvements during non-incident periods
- Develop and maintain:
- Monitoring and alerting enhancements
- Automation scripts and tooling
- Runbooks and operational documentation
- Reduce manual effort and improve system resilience
Collaboration & Coordination
- Partner with engineering teams, infrastructure teams, and product teams
- Support deployments, releases, and production changes
- Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and updates
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and operational processes
- Proactively identify risks and propose improvements
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in DevOps, SRE, or production support environments
- Experience with monitoring and incident tools such as:
- PagerDuty
- ServiceNow
- Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, or similar
- Solid understanding of:
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Linux/Unix systems
- Networking fundamentals
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- Prometheus/Grafana
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar)
Operational & Behavioural Skills
- Strong ownership mindset and accountability
- Ability to work under pressure and handle critical incidents calmly
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills for cross-team coordination
Work Model
- Participation in a rotating 24*7 on-call schedule
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as part of rotation
