Job Description
Preferred candidate profile:
Skill: Linux Admin + Red hat Satellite
Location: Bangalore, Coimbatore & Hyderabad
Experience: 6 to 8 years L3 Support
Shift: 24/7 Rotational shift
Role & responsibilities
Linux Engineer L3 (SME / Architect) (6 12+ Years)
Responsibilities
- Act as Linux SME and final escalation point.
- Lead major incident management and RCA.
- Design and support highly available and scalable Linux environments.
- Advanced performance tuning:
- Kernel parameters
- I/O, memory, and CPU tuning
- Lead patching, OS upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Implement automation using:
- Shell, Python
- Ansible / other tools
- Support Linux on cloud platforms:
- AWS / Azure / GCP
- Implement and manage:
- SELinux
- Firewall (iptables/firewalld)
- Security compliance and audits
- Mentor L1/L2 engineers.
- Work with OEM/vendor support teams.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews.
Skills
- Deep Linux internals knowledge.
- Strong scripting & automation expertise.
- Cloud and DevOps exposure.
- Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes preferred).
- Security and compliance expertise.
Required Technical Skills (All Levels)
- Linux OS: RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu / SUSE
- System administration fundamentals
- Incident & change management
- Documentation & communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Cloud certifications or handson cloud operations.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes Operators (Linux side).
- Experience in large enterprise production environments.
- Exposure to SRE or DevOps operating models.
Certifications (Preferred)
- RHCSA / RHCE
- AWS / Azure certifications
- ITIL Foundation
Shift & Support Model
- L1/L2: 247 rotational shifts
- L3: Oncall & escalation support
- Weekend support as per rotation
