Job Summary
Overall, Purpose of the Role:
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) Fundamentals Data processing will serve as a domain authority in financial data analysis and processing. This role involves guiding and mentoring analysts, ensuring data quality, and driving process improvements for the Fundamentals product, which delivers standardized and adjusted financials, key ratios, and industry-specific metrics for global listed companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the go-to expert for financial data extraction, standardization, and analysis from company financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Provide domain-level support and training to analysts on financial concepts, accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), and data collection methodologies.
- Review and validate the accuracy and consistency of financial data processed by the team.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and product teams to enhance data quality and process efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to update and maintain collection policies and documentation in line with evolving financial reporting standards.
- Support escalations and complex data interpretation cases from analysts and stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to continuous improvement strategies.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of financial data to client.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in finance, Commerce, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- 24 years of experience in financial data analysis, preferably in a financial services or data operations environment.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS).
- Experience working with global financial markets and listed company data.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior team members.
- Proficiency in English.
- Knowledge and experience in using MS Office.
- Flexible to work in a 24/5 environment.
Desirable:
- Experience with financial data platforms or tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, FactSet).
- Exposure to automation tools or process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
