Job Description

Role - Engineer - Purchase
Location- Rajkot
Key Roles & Responsibility
- Responsible for timely procurement of production consumables, miscellaneous item, packaging materials, and spares to ensure zero stoppage of production lines.
- Procure locally bought-out components and manage subcontracting (job work) activities,
- Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate, and develop new, reliable vendors for cost-saving, capacity enhancement, and alternative sourcing to reduce dependency.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality standards, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
- Handle the complete P2P (Procure-to-Pay) cycle in SAP MM, including Purchase Requisition (PR) verification, converting PR to Purchase Order (PO), and PO release to vendor.
- Track open Purchase Orders (POs), follow up with vendors for timely delivery, and resolve GRN (Goods Receipt Note) issues
- Issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), analyse offers, and conduct technical-commercial negotiations to achieve the best value.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives through volume leverage, vendor consolidation, and alternative sourcing.
- Prepare and maintain monthly supplier performance scorecards (evaluating Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service).
- Prepare regular MIS reports on procurement KPIs, including pending orders, cost-saving trackers
- Daily Close co-ordination with internal function team & planning team to ensure no-line stoppage
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
- Experience: 34 years of experience in purchase/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
- SAP Skills: In-depth knowledge of SAP Material Management (MM) module.
- Knowledge of Advanced Excel & PowerPoint.
- Strong English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Ability to read engineering drawings for technical components
Prefer candidate Gujrat location & Gujrati speaking (considering local procurement)
Languages : English, Hindi and Gujarati.
