About the Role
Atos is seeking an experienced StepWise Developer with strong exposure to the Optum StepWise platform to design, develop, and support enterprise-grade quoting, rating, and workflow automation solutions.
The role involves working on multi-tier applications built on Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, and SQL Server, with integrations across distributed enterprise systems.
Role & responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows and integrations using the StepWise platform
- Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable process flows
- Build and optimize data pipelines, API integrations, and event-driven processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation solutions
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance workflows for performance and reliability
- Maintain technical documentation and best practices
Technical Responsibilities (StepWise Platform)
- Develop and maintain:
- Rating services (pricing and quote logic)
- Workflow services for business process automation
- Web services including security and system integrations
- Work with Windows Services and ASP.NET web applications
- Design and manage SQL Server databases (configuration & transactional)
- Integrate with external systems using ODBC, REST/SOAP APIs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of overall software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience in StepWise development (Optum platform preferred)
- Expertise in:
- Microsoft .NET / ASP.NET
- SQL Server & relational database design
- Strong SQL querying, performance tuning, and data analysis skills
- Advanced Excel skills for calculations and StepWise configuration
- Experience with REST / SOAP web services
- Exposure to enterprise integrations (Oracle, DB2, ODBC-compliant systems)
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or financial services
- Knowledge of rating engines, quoting, underwriting workflows
- Familiarity with event-driven and distributed architectures
- Performance tuning of enterprise applications

- Strong communication and analytical abilities
- Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities
