Job Description
Manager Projects (Switchyard)
Key Responsibilities
- You will manage power station projects
Your main job is to handle switchyard and substation work (220kV level) for solar, wind, or hybrid energy projects from start to finish. - You will handle site construction work
You will supervise all on-site activities like civil work, electrical installation, equipment setup, and make sure everything is built correctly and on time. - You will manage testing and commissioning
Before the project goes live, you will ensure proper testing, system checks, and coordinate with government/utilities to get approvals and start power flow. - You will coordinate with teams and contractors
You will work with engineers, contractors, government bodies, and internal teams to keep the project running smoothly. - You will ensure safety, quality, and compliance
You must make sure all work follows safety rules, quality standards, and government regulations. - You will track cost and timelines
You will monitor project progress, control costs, manage risks, and ensure timely completion.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
Experience
- 812 years of experience in:
- Substation/switchyard execution (132kV, preferably 220kV)
- Renewable energy projects (solar/wind/hybrid preferred)
- Proven experience in:
- End-to-end substation execution
- Utility coordination and commissioning
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of:
- Substation design (AIS/GIS), protection systems, SCADA
- Grid compliance and synchronization protocols
- Familiarity with:
- CEA regulations, CEIG processes, STU/CTU requirements
- Working knowledge of:
- AutoCAD, MS Project / Primavera
- Protection relay testing tools (secondary injection kits, etc.)
Behavioural Competencies
- Strong ownership and execution rigor
- Ability to operate in multi-site, high-pressure environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to technical detail
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time commissioning of PSS/GSS
- Zero major safety incidents
- Adherence to budget and cost control targets
- Grid compliance and successful synchronization
- Contractor performance and productivity
