Job Description
We are looking for an experienced PMO professional to support the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Private Cloud Program. The PMO will be responsible for program governance, planning, financial control, reporting, and delivery assurance, ensuring alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality standards, and enterprise governance frameworks.
This is a PMO leadership role managing 810 team members, working closely with delivery, engineering, finance, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Program Governance & Control
Establish and operate program governance frameworks for the VCF initiative.
Maintain and enforce governance standards including:
RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
Change control and approvals
Decision logs and action tracking
Support Steering Committee and governance forums:
Prepare decks, minutes of meetings, and followups
Ensure alignment with enterprise PMO standards, audit, and compliance requirements.
Planning & Scheduling
Maintain the integrated master program plan covering:
VCF platform build
SDDC components (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, SDDC Manager)
Workload migration waves and tenant onboarding
Track milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities.
Proactively manage and communicate schedule changes and delivery impacts.
Financial & Commercial Management
Track program budgets, forecasts, and actuals.
Monitor vendor costs, milestones, and invoice validation against SOWs.
Support financial governance activities including:
Cost variance analysis
Forecast accuracy
Financial impact assessments for change requests
Support chargeback / showback and private cloud cost transparency reporting.
Status Reporting & Executive Communication
Produce weekly and monthly program reports, including:
Overall program health (RAG status)
Key risks and issues with mitigation plans
Milestone progress and dependencies
Financial summaries
Prepare executivelevel dashboards and presentations.
Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely communication across stakeholders.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
Own and maintain the program RAID log.
Ensure risks and issues are:
Clearly articulated
Correctly owned
Actively mitigated or escalated
Track crosstower dependencies across:
Compute, network, storage
Security, operations, and applications
Change & Quality Management
Operate the program change control process:
Log, assess, approve, and track scope/schedule/cost changes
Support program quality gates and stage approvals, including:
Design signoff
Build completion
Migration readiness
Operational handover
Migration & Delivery Assurance Support
Track workload migration progress against agreed wave plans.
Monitor entry/exit criteria, cutover readiness, and stabilization metrics.
Ensure prerequisites and dependencies are met prior to migration execution.
Support golive and hypercare tracking.
Operational Readiness & Transition
Track operational readiness artifacts including:
Runbooks and SOPs
Monitoring, backup, and DR processes
Knowledge transfer and training completion
Support transition from program delivery to steadystate operations.
People Management
Manage and coordinate a PMO team of 810 members.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory
Strong experience in PMO operations for large infrastructure or cloud programs.
Excellent attention to detail with ability to manage complex, multiworkstream programs.
Good understanding of private cloud and SDDC concepts.
Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation components:
vSphere, vSAN, NSX, SDDC Manager
Understanding of workload migration lifecycle and cloud adoption phases.
Strong experience creating executiveready reports, dashboards, and metrics.
Good to Have
Experience supporting VMware Cloud Foundation or large private cloud programs.
Exposure to data center exit or cloud transformation initiatives.
Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL) processes.
Certifications (Preferred)
PMP / PRINCE2
ITIL v4 Foundation
PMO or Portfolio Management certifications
