Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Configuring and managing firewall policies on checkpoint firewall, FortiGate firewall, security rules (App-ID, Threat-ID, URL filtering), site-to-site and remote access VPN tunnels, and high-availability (HA) clusters.
- Monitoring traffic and security alerts, performing packet captures, and implementing intrusion prevention/detection systems (IPS/IDS).
- Implementing Layer 2 and Layer 3 configurations, including VLANs, trucking, port security, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
- Managing and troubleshooting stacking on Cisco Catalyst switches.
- Maintaining detailed and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures. Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Configuring and managing the Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) and associated Access Points (APs).
- Designing and optimizing wireless coverage, signal strength, and security (e.g., WPA3, 802.1X).
- Designing, deploying, and supporting data center networks utilizing ACI fabric architecture.
- Managing Application Profile Interfaces (APICs), Endpoint Groups (EPGs), contracts, and integration with external devices like firewalls and load balancers.
- Design and manage secure network access control (NAC) policies, overseeing user and device authentication (AAA), compliance checks, guest access, and integration with other security systems on cisco ISE
Primary Skills:
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco, Meraki solutions, including Switches, Wireless Access Points.
- Support implementation and maintenance of Cisco switches, Checkpoint firewall, Cisco WLC, AP, etc
- Provide L2-level support for checkpoint Firewalls, including basic policy configuration and monitoring.
- Assist in managing Smart console for centralized firewall visibility and reporting.
- Monitor and maintain network security posture, ensuring adherence to defined security policies and standards.
Provide escalation support for complex issues across switching, routing, VPNs, etc.
Secondary Skills:
- Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and patch management for network and security devices.
- Assist in capacity planning and performance monitoring for enterprise network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support basic OCI cloud networking (VCN, Security Lists, VPNs, RPC).
- Create and maintain network diagrams, configuration records, and procedural documentation for operational readiness.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network incidents as part of incident management processes.
Evaluate and suggest improvements or new networking technologies to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
