Power BI Analyst Job Description

Overview

A Power BI Analyst collects, analyzes, and visualizes data to help organizations make data-driven decisions. They design dashboards, reports, and data models that are easy to understand and actionable.

Key Responsibilities

• Connect to multiple data sources (databases, Excel, APIs, etc.)
• Clean and transform data using Power Query
• Build data models and relationships
• Create interactive dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI
• Write DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas for calculations
• Monitor and improve report performance
• Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Automate reporting processes

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
• DAX and Power Query (M language)
• SQL for database querying
• Data modeling concepts
• Excel (advanced level)
• Basic understanding of data warehousing
