Role & responsibilities
Windows_VMWare - Only Immediate Joiners
Role
(Specific tasks and the role that the person will undertake)
The Windows + VMware Engineer will manage onpremises Windows Server and VMware virtualization environments to ensure stability, performance, availability, and security of enterprise infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical server hardware (Dell/HP/Lenovo).
- Administer Windows Servers 2012/2016/2019/2022/2025, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO.
- Perform VMware ESXi (6.7/7.0/8.0) & vCenter installation, configuration, upgrades, and host lifecycle activities.
- Provision, configure, and maintain virtual machines, templates, snapshots, cloning, VM security, backups, and DR readiness.
- Manage VMware advanced featuresDRS, HA, vMotion, clusters, datastore provisioning, SSL/TLS, firewall rules.
- Troubleshoot complex issues: PSOD, host failures, VM failures, performance bottlenecks.
- Implement server hardening, compliance, monitoring, and capacity planning across infra components.
- Collaborate with network, storage, cloud, and security teams for integrated solutions.
Experience
(Relevant experience the person must have)
- 1+ years of experience in Windows + VMware administration in enterprise environments.
- Handson exposure to VMware ESXi lifecycle, Windows Server L2/L3 operations, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Experience working on large-scale environments with hundreds to thousands of servers (as demonstrated in internal CVs).
- Experience performing patching, upgrades, migrations, datacenter operations.

Strong administration skills in:
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO.
- Windows Server OS (20122025).
- VMware ESXi/vCenter (6.7/7.0/8.0).
Proficient in:
- VM provisioning, templates, snapshots, resource optimization.
- HA/DRS/Clusters, datastores, vMotion, host maintenance.
- PowerShell/PowerCLI automation.
- Troubleshooting BSOD, PSOD, VM/host failures, performance issues.
Knowledge of:
- Remote management tools (iLO, iDRAC, CIMC, UCS).
- Backup/DR tools & practices.
- Windows patching tools (SCCM/Intune/other).
Management/Personal Skills

- Strong analytical and root-cause troubleshooting capability.
- Ability to work independently and handle critical issues under pressure.
- Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ownership mindset, attention to detail, and reliability in handling L2/L3 operations.
- Time management and ability to handle high-volume operational loads
Educational Qualification
(Basic educational background that the candidate should possess)
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or similar engineering discipline (as seen in internal resumes).
- Diploma in relevant technical fields is acceptable for junior or L2 roles.
Tests, Certification
(Specific tests that must be applied to candidates; prior certification that they may need)
Preferred Certifications:
- VMware VCP-DCV (vSphere 7/8).
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or legacy MCSE/MCSA (relevant to AD/DNS/DHCP).
- ITIL Foundation for operational processes.
- PowerShell/Automation skill assessment (required in multiple internal JD listings).
Recommended Tests:
- VMware troubleshooting & scenario simulation test.
- Windows Server administration & GPO/DNS troubleshooting practical test.
- PowerShell scripting proficiency test.
