Job Description

Job Purpose


The Payroll Accountant (Executive level) will be responsible for managing payroll-related accounting and statutory compliance activities. This role ensures timely payment of employee-related liabilities, accurate recording of payroll transactions, and supports overall R2R processes along with the delivery of a high quality, customer focused service daily basis to the client in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Statutory Compliance & Payments:
  • Ensure timely payment of all employee-related statutory liabilities as per applicable due dates.
  • Prepare bank payment files for processing and release of payments.
  • Payroll Accounting:
  • Record payroll and employee-related bank payment entries accurately.
  • Prepare monthly schedules for payroll-related accounts.
  • Employee Benefits & Cards:
  • Place new meal card orders and manage reload activities.
  • Handle annual gift card orders and amount reloads.
  • Reconciliation & Analysis:
  • Identify and follow up on any open or unreconciled items for employee liability balances.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly flux analysis on payroll and statutory liability balances related to balance sheet and P&L accounts.

  • Other R2R Activities:
  • Support any additional Record-to-Report activities assigned from time to time.
  • Meet the defined SLAs/KPIs consistently each month.
  • Aims at improving processes.
  • Responsible for following control procedures and maintaining operational procedures.
  • Foster the Sodexo culture in compliance with the Groups core values (service spirit, team spirit, spirit of progress) and its ethical principles (trust, respect for people, transparency, and business integrity).
  • Create an environment that promotes integrity, transparency, trust and meritocracy.
  • Be responsible for pre-close and month end closing activities, in compliance with company accounting policies, timelines and the application of IFRS & local accounting standards.
  • Support internal, external, tax audit requirements.
  • Posting journal entries and accounting corrections/reclassifications to ensure accurate accounting records. Understand data flow across systems, sub ledger-ledger process to help provide resolution.
  • Actively participate in new ERP implementation during UAT, parallel run and go-live.

Qualification

Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce or Finance.


Experience

  • 15 years in payroll accounting and statutory compliance, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and statutory requirements.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (D365/SAP/Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Functional Competencies

  • Payroll Process Expertise: In-depth understanding of payroll cycles, statutory deductions, and compliance requirements.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong grasp of accounting principles related to payroll, employee liabilities, and reconciliations.
  • ERP & System Proficiency: Ability to navigate and utilize ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) for payroll and payment processing.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Skilled in preparing schedules, conducting flux analysis, and interpreting payroll-related financial data.
  • Compliance Management: Knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory payment timelines.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Process Improvement: Capability to streamline payroll accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy
