Job Description
What does a successful Cloud FinOps Analyst do?
A successful Cloud FinOps Analyst at Fiserv turns complex cloud usage data into clear, actionable financial insights that improve how we plan, manage, and optimize cloud spend. You partner with engineering, product, and finance teams to strengthen forecasting, refine cost attribution, and drive measurable savings while supporting Fiservs growth in the cloud. Your work helps us align cloud investment with business value and build a mature, scalable FinOps capability across the organization.
What you will do:
- Develop and maintain cloud cost and forecasting models to provide visibility into current and projected cloud spend.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to attribute costs to teams or products, build forecasts, and identify key cost drivers.
- Collaborate with Finance to align cloud cost reporting with financial plans and budgeting cycles.
- Build and enhance dashboards and reports for real-time cloud cost, utilization, KPIs, and optimization metrics.
- Define, track, and maintain cloud cost KPIs, scorecards, and standard metrics across cloud platforms.
- Perform optimization analysis (rightsizing, commitment discounts, waste reduction) and quantify savings opportunities.
- Support cost allocation, anomaly detection, and variance analysis and surface insights with recommended actions.
- Create and deliver stakeholder-ready presentations and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Contribute to the FinOps roadmap, including process improvements, stakeholder onboarding, and tool evaluations.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders to drive adoption of FinOps best practices.
What you will need to have:
- 8+ years of experience in Cloud FinOps, cloud cost management, FP&A, cloud platform operations, or technical financial analysis.
- 8+ years of experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP billing and pricing models and discount mechanisms (RIs, Savings Plans, CUDs).
- 8+ years of experience performing cost allocation, forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization analysis.
- 8+ years of experience partnering with engineering teams to translate cloud usage into financial and business insights.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
What would be great to have:
- Experience building dashboards and reports using BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- FinOps Certified Practitioner and/or hyperscaler certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience implementing tagging strategies, chargeback/showback models, and unit economics.
- Experience helping to build or mature an enterprise FinOps capability, including governance and stakeholder enablement.
- Experience connecting cloud architecture concepts (compute, storage, networking) to cost and value outcomes.
