Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to identify accurate diagnosis codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II codes.
  
• Validate DRGs (Diagnosis Related Groups) against medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies in coding and billing processes.
  
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines throughout the review process.
  
• Provide feedback on denial management strategies to improve revenue cycle management.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• 2-7 years of experience in clinical documentation integrity or related field.
  
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II codes; extensive medical coding experience preferred but not mandatory.
  
• Proficiency in DRG validation software applications such as Medcode or similar tools.
