Scientific Officer / Senior Scientific Officer @ Torrent Diagnostics

Job Description

Role & responsibilities :

• Sample Management: Collecting, receiving, labeling, and/or analyzing samples or substances using the correct testing equipment, when necessary.
• Testing & Analysis: Designing and executing laboratory testing in line with standard testing procedures, recording observations, and interpreting findings.
• Testing and analysis Samples
• Equipment Maintenance: Calibrating, cleaning, and repairing laboratory machinery to ensure accuracy.
• Data Recording: Documenting test results in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) or other databases.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations (e.g., handling hazardous materials, proper disposal,). Organizing and storing all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions
• Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels and ordering lab supplies.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory procedures, scientific instruments, and computer systems.
• Communication: Ability to report findings to scientists or supervisors.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Master/ Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or a related field.
• DMLT Certification from Valid Institute
• Proven experience working as a lab technician.
• NABL Audit Knowledge will an added advantage
